The Leland Burns House. Courtesy of Charles Moore Foundation.
The architect Charles Moore skillfully evoked, and helped create, the genius loci of Southern California in a range of notable projects designed largely over the decade he taught at UCLA: 1975 to 1985. This tour includes visits to four of the most renowned of these works: the Beverly Hills Civic Center, Moore’s own Selby Condominium, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church (recently reopened after the Pacific Palisades fire), and the Leland Burns House. Lunch is not included but light refreshments will be served at the Burns House, the final stop.
**NOTE: This is a bus tour but also involves walking and significant stair climbing, in and out of doors.
