Step into the world of Charles and Ray Eames at the Eames House (Case Study House No. 8), the extraordinary home and studio of one of the most influential design teams of the 20th century.Completed on Christmas Eve 1949, the Eames House is more than an iconic work of modern architecture – it sits sensitively in a significant landscape and is filled with Charles and Ray’s belongings, both Eames-designed furnishings and all manner of things that delighted and inspired them.

On this visit, you’ll spend a day experiencing the Eameses’ lives, work, and philosophies. Guided by the Charles & Ray Eames Foundation team, you’ll learn the history and significance of the site while exploring the ideas that continue to shape design today.

While the residence interior will remain closed to ensure its long-term conservation you will see much of their living area through wide expanses of glass, and for the first time ever Charles and Ray’s private working studio will open its doors, giving insight into the space where many of their most enduring ideas and designs were fostered. The day also includes time to enjoy the Eames House site as the Eameses themselves would have – with time to relax in the surroundings and share a picnic on the grounds.

Note: You must be registered for the conference in order to register for tours. Once you complete your conference registration you will receive an email with links to register for your tours.
